Peor/Vocab #2/ adjective

Updated: Dec 27, 2019

What can be worse than not knowing how to say worse in Spanish? Luckily, in this post, I will be exploring the word 'peor', which means worse in Spanish.

Peor- Adj

Definition: Worse

Memory Tool: Peor sounds like "pay-your"- Pay your bills or your financial situation will become worse

My example sentence

Un perro es peor que un gato (Jk I love both)

A dog is worse than a cat

Tengo una nota peor que la tuya

I have a worse grade than yours

Interesting fact: (These are not my own words. Look below for citation)

"Peor in Biblical Hebrew means 'opening', from the verb פער (pa'ar), to open wide. Peor is most famous as part of the name Baal-peor, the Moabite god with which Israel defiled itself. Peor is also the name of a mountain in Moab. The seer Balaam addresses Israel from the top of mount Peor (Numbers 23:28)."
